I am originally from the Upstate of South Carolina. Before moving to Connecticut, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University and I previously held positions at Davidson College, the University of Michigan, and the University of North Georgia. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia where I focused on American Politics and Quantitative Methods. Additionally, I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. When I am not working, I enjoy playing golf, taking my dog (an English Pointer named Sammy) on walks, and watching almost any sporting event.
